Nicknames and famous highlights
History and architecture
Phnom Sombok is a Buddhist pilgrimage hill above the Mekong, a few kilometers north of Kratie town. The vihara and stair are modern. People who come to Kratie for the Irrawaddy dolphins at nearby Kampi often add the hill for the lookout. It is not a temple of the Angkorian kings, and it should not be written up as one. Entry is free. The climb is the visit, and the river is the view.
