History and architecture

Phnom Krom is one of three hill temples Yasovarman I raised around his new capital, with Phnom Bakheng and Phnom Bok. The three towers are the Trimurti: Shiva in the center, Vishnu and Brahma on either side. The date is about 900. The hill guards the point where the Siem Reap River meets the Tonle Sap, so the view is the lake and the floating villages rather than Angkor Wat. It is covered by the Angkor Pass. The stair from the parking area is the whole workout.
