History and architecture

Prasat Kravan was dedicated in 921, during the reign of Harshavarman I, by high officials rather than as a royal state temple. The art is on the inside. Brick reliefs in the central tower show Vishnu in several forms, and the north tower shows Lakshmi. Exterior brick temples of this date are usually decorated in stucco, which has vanished, so the surviving interior carving is the reason to stop. The towers were restored in the 20th century. The temple sits just south of Banteay Kdei on the Small Circuit.
